Born in  Argentina, Silas Bassa begins his piano studies at the age of five and enters  at the Municipal  Conservatory of his hometown, Santa Fe.  At the age of 18 he moves to Buenos Aires to attend  the National Conservatory and to study with the renowned Maestro Aldo Antonganzzi. After receiving the First Prize he is selected for master class by Maestro Bruno Leonardo Gelber. His performance earned him a scholarship to study with M. Gelber in Europe. A year later he is invited to participate in the first “Martha Argerich Festival” in Buenos Aires, making his debut performance at the  “Teatro Colon” of Buenos Aires.


In 2002 he moves to Paris to take lessons  with the well-known pianist and pedagogue Monique Deschaussées who encourages him to stay in Paris. He furthered developed his piano skills and repertory by following a suite of advanced degrees of the « Conservatoire en Hauts-de -Seine».
 Throughout his career, he has performed numerous solo and chamber music concerts at important theatres and halls in South and North America, Europe and Asia.


In addition to the traditional classical music performances and to his brilliant interpretations of the core piano repertoire, he’s also developing a reputation as a talented composer.


 In constant artistic developement, he proposes to open new doors for the role of the performer, by developing a personal musical path while building a creative programme for each of his performances. He has created several artistic projects working in association with different directors, film-makers, actors and choreographers.


In 2015 he records his first album “Oscillations” ( Paraty - Harmonia Mundi distribution)  which is enthusiastically recieved  by the  press and the public. The album holds the top spot on the French Fnac charts of  best-selling contemporary classical music albums and is selected by Radio France (France Musique) as one of the best albums of 2015. Is  at that moment that Bassa was  noticed  by the French pianists Katia and Marielle Labéque who invite him to performe  with them  for special live concert  “Labéque and friends” at the “Maison de la Radio” in Paris.


In 2017 with his second album "Dualità" (Paraty-Harmonia Mundi) he explores his creativity digging into the dissonance between opposing and complementary elements, which represent duality. The album and the concerts are praised by national and foreign press.


In 2020 he releases his third album entitled « SILAS» (Klarthe Records-Pias distribution), his most personal album to date. Composer and performer of each of the ten pieces of this opus, he unfolds a fascinating world, simultaneously both very modern and resolutely timeless.
